Science Tech Kona or LETS is a collection of websites.
Depending on what is trying to be achieved, we use different tools to achieve different outcomes.
Just as Youtube is used to hold videos, and Facebook to communicate with friends, so STK has a Main Site http://sciencetechkona.org, a blog http://sciencetechkona.org/blog to let you know about our daily and weekly going ons, and this wiki, http://sciencetechkona.org/wiki a repository of information and training materials.
This particular page is to help people who are wanting to create webpages, to consider what information is wanting to be presented, therefore where in the vast array of places that information can then be put.
Ideally what we want to produce is a treasure trove of information, fun presentations, helpful links and ways to engage people who like us, are interested in doing fun things and having a good impact on the world around us.
Things for the website
Interested in helping?
|Site||URL||CMS||What is it for?|
|Main Site||sciencetechkona.org||Joomla||This is our front door, our place for a first impresion. It does need to change regularry, at least once a week, so returning people feel like they are seeing things happen. Deeper in to this is where we run and manage the things we do. Talk about projects and act as a point of informational contact.|
|Blog||sciencetechkona.org/blog||Wordpress||This is where we put our more general activities, both specific to what we do and the fun things we get up to. They are presented in as easily accessible and interactive way. We want many people posting here. It would be good to have four to ten articles a week, obviously one person can not do that, but with our staff numbers (and training), then people could easily put up one post a fortnight, with their particular ethnic flavour, they could repost their blog to their facebook, they by drawing more people back to our site.|
|Wiki||sciencetechkona.org/wiki||Media Wiki||A treasure trove of information, a cornucopia of projects and pages on how to do what we do.|
|YouTube||[Follow This]||Through our Google accounts we have access to a lot of tools to get our message out in a variety of formats. We are always looking for people who want to make content,|
|[Follw This]||Be a friend, like us, share what we post, the wider the circulation the more people will see that we all can do something and make a difference.|
