Feeding our fish

Making our own

We are starting to make our own food.

In running Aquaponics in a developing world setting it is counter productive if the cost of feeding the fish is greater that the benefits of the crops produced.

Power and food are the biggest daily input to an Aquaponics system, so reducing the cost of food is a big incentive in making a system viable and sustainable.

Duckweed grows with next to no maintenance.

  • If you provide the weed with a water surface to grown on it will.
  • You can harvest it daily and quickly you will find how much you can harvest daily to feed to fish or ducks with out reducing it's growth cycle.

We are currently looking at combining Duckweed with Black Soldier Flies lave and Moringa to pelletize and create a feed stock for our fish.
